In a few weeks, crews will replace the emergency generator that provides power to the Highway 525 well site. The current generator failed during the last power outage and cannot be repaired. We estimate that the new generator will be installed and operational by the end of December 2024.
In the meantime, we recommend that residents prepare for potential water outages in the District by readying stores of potable water, either in the form of bottled water or filled containers. If prolonged power outages occur before our new emergency generator is installed, there will be limited or no water available after the District’s main holding tanks are drained.
This notice does not affect District customers located on Shore Avenue, which is a gravity-fed water system.
